A new season of Fortnite is finally out and with it, many changes have been made to the island. There are new weapons, characters, and Points of Interest (POIs) in the game that are going to change the meta once again. So if you want to get updated on all the changes that have been made to Fortnite in Chapter 3, Season 4, you have come to the right place.
In this article, we will also talk about the new Battle Pass and Fortnite’s collaboration with the Spiderman Into The Spiderverse movies!
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4: Paradise
The storyline for this season is that there is a new substance that is violently taking over Fortnite island. It’s called Chrome and it consumes anything and everything that it touches.
This is a virus that is spreading throughout the island and is highly contagious. Does this ring a bell?
Players can also use Chrome to their advantage now by throwing it down on a wall, allowing them to pass through it! There are also many other uses of Chrome throughout the game of Fortnite which you will see mentioned below!
Chrome: A New Substance
Chrome can take over and consume any surface it touches. And even Wood, Brick, and Metal are no match for its deadliness! Players can now throw down the new Chrome Splash throwable on any wall structure and turn it into Chrome. This will allow you to pass through the wall and get a jump on your enemies.
That’s not all, however. You can even Chrome-ify yourself by throwing down the Chrome Splash on yourself, turning you into pure Chrome for a brief time! When in this shape, you will be immune to bullet damage and become a blob when you sprint.
You will also be immune to fall damage when in the blob form and have the ability to air dash. When you air dash into any object, it will turn into chrome, similar to if you throw down chrome on it. You’ll also be able to phase through a build once you chrome-ify it.
Points Of Interests (POIs)
Chrome is having a visible impact throughout the island. You will see it appear on many POIs on the island. And not only that, but it has also created a brand new POI called Herald’s Sanctum (near the abandoned Sanctuary) which stands on top of a tower of hexagonal foundations.
Furthermore, because of the Chrome, more POIs are taking refuge up in the skies and have escalated up from the ground. The most notable is the POI that was formerly called Condo Canyon is now known as Cloudy Condos after floating up in the air.
How do you get up to these Points of Interest?
Enter the D-Launcher!
The D-Launcher is available in different locations across the island and can be used to gain the high ground and get to the elevated POIs.
With the introduction of Chrome, we also see the addition of the EvoChrome Shotgun and EvoChrome Burst Rifle. These weapons can be obtained from EvoChrome Chests scattered throughout the island!
The twist with these guns is that they can be upgraded in rarity but not in the way that you upgrade other weapons. Instead of using an upgrade bench, the EvoChrome weapons can be upgraded by damaging more opponents!
Their rarity will increase from Uncommon to Mythic depending on how much damage you do with them.
All Weapons In Chapter 3 Season 4
Many weapons from the previous season, Vibin’, are going to remain in the game in this new season, and many more old weapons are getting unvalued.
Here is a complete list of all returning and unvalued weapons in Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 4:
- Sidearm Pistol
- Prime Shotgun
- Lever Action Shotgun
- Rapid Fire SMG
- Suppressed Submachine Gun
- Ranger Assault Rifle
- Hammer Assault Rifle
- Designated Marksman Rifle (DMR)
- Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper

Sniper Rifles Buffed
All sniper rifles in Fortnite, currently in the game or vaulted, have seen changes in their damage. Some have had their damages increased while others have decreased.
But the thing that is common between all the snipers is that they have all had their headshot damage multiplier increased, which means that landing a headshot with most sniper rifles now will result in an instant kill. So look out for those sneaky snipers in your next game of Fortnite!
Vaults Are Back
Vaults in the game have been around for a long time and although there have been many variations of them, the base working concept is the same. Players can gain access to a vault by getting a certain item and opening the vault will generally give you rare items.
In Chapter 3, Season 4, you will find keys scattered across the island. You can use these keys containing loot. Low-security vaults can be opened using only one key, while the high-security vaults require two keys to be opened.
An item similar to the Port-a-Fort has been added to Fortnite, called the Port-A-Bunker. Throwing down a Port-A-Bunker on the ground will instantly create a 1x1 structure with reinforced metal walls, a versatile ramp, doors, and defensive tires.
A new mechanism has been added to the game meaning now when you run into a player while sliding, you will knock them back!
Chapter 3, Season 4 Battle Pass!
Of course, with a new season of Fortnite, comes a brand new Battle Pass featuring brand new skins. This season’s Battle Pass will allow you to assemble your own Eclectic Crew with the TV show escapee Lennox Rose, Chill Cat Meow Skulls, Ferocious Facade Grriz, Gwen Stacy a.k.a. Spider-Gwen, and more!
When purchasing the Battle Pass, you will instantly unlock the Paradigm (Reality-659) skin.
Fortnite has collaborated with the Spiderverse, adding Gwen Stacy (Spider-Gwen) from the Spiderverse movies into the game!
